Bio: Kassy is an admired public relations veteran who has charted a distinctive intersection between advocacy, issues management and media relations. She’s recognized as a “Rising Star” in Sacramento who sets social change in motion. Throughout her career as a journalist, public servant and business owner, she has achieved accolades for her vision and leadership.

Perry Communications Group under Kassy’s direction has risen to become a multi-million dollar firm ranked among the top-20 health care PR practices nationwide. Her counsel and connections have garnered groundbreaking consumer protections for HMO enrollees, increased national rates of colorectal cancer screening and mobilized massive grassroots support to reform the Food & Drug Administration. She has also created notable campaigns that have advanced the international launch of live-saving drug therapies and expanded community-based mental health services in California.

During her years as an advisor to two California governors, Kassy emerged as a respected spokesperson. She represented the Deukmejian Administration’s position during controversial policy initiatives related to AIDS, cancer and low-level radioactive waste. On behalf of Governor Wilson, she brought to life his vision for Medi-Cal managed care and welfare reform, as well as many other public policy initiatives to improve the lives of California families.

Today, Kassy leads the strategic planning and creative direction of Perry Communications Group’s award-winning work. She provides big picture thinking and a dose of reality, when needed, to best meet her clients’ diverse communications needs. Clients trust her as their strategic advisor and public spokesperson.

Kassy serves on the Board of the American Heart Association, Western States Affiliate. She also works as an Advisor to the UC Davis Women’s Center for Health and Director of Public Affairs and Intellectual Property for Molecular Biology Consultants.

Kassy participates in professional organizations such as the American Association of Political Consultants, Women Impacting Public Policy and the Public Relations Society of America. She is a member of CEWAER, the Sacramento Metro Chamber of Commerce and the National Association of Women Business Owners. Outside of the PR world, she pursues her life-long equestrian passion as a nationally ranked competitor in the show jumping circuit.
